Understanding Dry Eye Syndrome
Dry Eye Syndrome occurs when your eyes do not produce enough tears, produce poor-quality tears, and/or your tears evaporate too quickly. This can lead to discomfort and vision problems.
Common Symptoms include:
Persistent dryness
Burning or stinging sensations
Redness and irritation
Blurred vision
Sensitivity to light
A feeling of having something in the eye

Tear Film Analysis: Advanced diagnostic tools to measure tear production, tear film stability, and the quality of your tears.
Lifestyle and Environmental Recommendations: Advice on lifestyle changes, such as increasing humidity levels and taking regular breaks from screen time, to alleviate dry eye symptoms.
Artificial Tears and Lubricants: Prescribing over-the-counter drops, gels and ointments to provide immediate relief and improve tear film quality.
Prescription Medications: Medications to reduce inflammation and stimulate natural tear production, such as cyclosporine (Restasis/Cequa/Vevye) or lifitegrast (Xiidra). There is also a medication to help improve evaporation of tears, which is called Miebo.
Punctal Plugs: Small devices inserted into the tear ducts to reduce tear drainage and maintain moisture on the eye surface.
Lid Hygiene and Warm Compresses: Guidance on maintaining proper eyelid hygiene and using warm compresses to treat underlying issues like blepharitis or meibomian gland dysfunction.
